Abigail Obenski earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she is currently pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology. Abigail’s clinical experience has emphasized serving underserved populations in primary care and community mental health settings. She is passionate about interprofessional education, particularly how psychologists, counselors, and physicians can work together to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Clinical psychology doctoral students do not universally have primary or team-based care experiences. Likewise, student healthcare professionals may not interact with clinical psychologists in primary care, as this role is still emerging. Therefore, as a requirement, students in the Clinical PsyD program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine shadow physicians and their accompanying medical students for four hours in clinic.
