Dr. Zagoloff is a licensed clinical child psychologist whose practice centers the experiences of youths and families affected by chronic stress and trauma. Dr. Zagoloff is working towards an MPH in Public Health Administration and Policy with expertise in creating sustainable healthcare careers. Dr. Zagoloff serves her department (University of Minnesota Medical School, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences) as the Gloria and Dr. Martin Segal Endowed Professor in Mental Healthcare Quality Improvement and Access.

This Lightning Talk expands upon a presentation at the 2024 Nexus Summit by describing an institution-level program’s final stage of scaffolded adaptation and growth. IPE faculty development (i.e., training prospective academic and clinical educators) is critical in sustaining the future of collaborative workforce preparation. This Seminar builds upon a Lightning Talk presented at the 2024 Nexus Summit. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Minnesota (UMN) Medical School has devoted a decade of effort toward bolstering its interprofessional education workforce. At the 2024 Summit, presenters shared results from a half-day workshop with faculty and learners on interprofessional collaborative practice. This Lightning Talk describes a new collaboration between the Medical School and School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. “The Minnesota Way” refers to a problem solving curriculum taught to Master’s of Healthcare Administration students. A fieldwork project introduced four students to a quality improvement project in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences regarding complex clinical documentation.
