Amy Akerman, MPAS, PA-C, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is a full-time faculty member in the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant (CHA/PA) program and leads multiple courses, including the Foundations in Prevention, Advocacy, and Professional Practice courses. She is Chair of the CHA/PA assessment program and is the Geriatric specialty track faculty advisor. She is an assistant director of the Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education program on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Amy is a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs.

Person-centeredness is essential to holistic health care and requires collaboration of healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
