Amy Russell Yun, OTD, MS OTR/L: Amy has over 25 years as a nationally registered Occupational Therapist. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and currently teaches within JMU’s Master of Occupational Therapy Program. She has worked within diverse practice settings addressing the needs of people experiencing challenges with eating and feeding. She teaches the Assistive Technology & Environmental Modifications and Pediatric Interventions courses that include IPE modules. Research interests: OT education, use of therapeutic occupations, and assistive technologies. Engages in qualitative, mixed and multiple methods research; has presented at national, regional, and state conferences regarding assistive technologies in OT.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This session will describe a Modified Texture IPE Workshop designed to prepare Dietetics, OT, and SLP students to work collaboratively to address the complex nutritional needs of clients with dysphasia. IPE experiences, especially those aligned with real-world clinical scenarios, are particularly effective in improving students’ role clarity, collaboration skills, and preparedness for team-based care.
