Anita Fernander, Ph.D., recentlyly served as the Executive Diversity Officer at the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine and tenured Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. She spent over 25 years in academic medicine researching, teaching, consulting, and participating in community engagement focused on constructs such as: anti-biasing strategies such as cultural humilty; historical and contemporary political and social determinants of health; cultural humility; race, racism and health disparities; health inequalities, and healthcare inequities.
