Bertha Lee, PhD, RN is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at MCPHS. She teaches and coordinates Introduction to Professional Nursing Practice, Nursing Seminar, and Advanced Medical Nursing courses, which are designed for accelerated baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate nursing students. These courses have a focus on fostering advanced clinical skills and professional development.

Background: Team Observed Structured Clinical Encounters (TOSCEs) involving standardized patients (SPs) are an effective way to teach and evaluate core interprofessional skills and support learning to improve health outcomes. TOSCEs provide a method of evaluating interprofessional skills in a formative, low stakes environment.
