PharmD Candidate
Binghamton University
Cindy Gallo, B.S., is a fourth-year PharmD candidate at the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is currently completing her Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) and brings a diverse background in pharmacy, including a particularly unique experience at Cardinal Health's nuclear pharmacy.
Cindy is passionate about advancing her clinical knowledge and aspires to secure a PGY1 pharmacy residency upon earning her PharmD. Her interests span across various pharmacy settings, and she values opportunities that emphasize interprofessional collaboration and patient-centered care.
During her third year of pharmacy school, Cindy served as the inaugural Vice President of the Binghamton University Interprofessional Education Consortium (BIPEC)—the first student-led organization at the university dedicated to fostering interprofessional leadership with guidance from faculty mentors. BIPEC includes students from pharmacy, nursing, public health, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and social work, and aims to enhance mutual understanding across healthcare disciplines.
Motivated by her early participation in interprofessional education (IPE) events at Binghamton, Cindy joined BIPEC to deepen her appreciation for the roles of professionals outside the pharmacy field. As Vice President, she played a key role in developing the organization’s mission and vision statements, collaborated with university leadership and faculty to achieve official student organization recognition, and produced an instructional video to promote engagement.
Cindy’s experiences reflect her strong commitment to leadership, teamwork, and the evolving role of pharmacists within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
