Drew Babcock, Amskapi Pikuni (Blackfeet), was raised in East Glacier and Browning on the Blackfeet Reservation. He holds a B.S. in Athletic Training and an M.S. in Health and Human Performance from the University of Montana. Drew works for the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana, serving as the liaison and coordinator between the residency and Indian Health Service, Tribal Health, and Urban Indian organizations in western Montana. His work also focuses on faculty and resident physician education pertaining to Indigenous health, American Indian medical student recruitment, and workforce and pathway development. One of the greatest rewards of working for the residency has been seeing residents graduate and take positions on reservations to provide exceptional care to communities and my family members who have historically not received adequate care. He also serves on the Indigenous Health Education and Resource Taskforce (IHEART) and the American Indian Medical Education Strategies (AIMES) Alliance, both addressing healthcare workforce shortages in Indian Country.
