Gabriel Moxey is a second-year medical student at VCU School of Medicine, inducted into the International/Inner City/Rural Preceptorship program for his commitment to underserved communities. Before medical school, he spent six years at the NIH, advancing from Associate Scientist in vaccine formulation to Compound Management Scientist, while serving on the NIH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Gabriel’s research has earned multiple NIH commendations and a Dean’s Summer Research Fellowship. In addition to medical school, he volunteers with underserved patients, runs marathons for charitable organizations, and advocates for health-equity initiatives.

Preparing students to be informed, open-minded, and engaged for large Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities that take place in the late afternoon or other unfavorable times can be challenging. Use of innovative, technology-inclusive approaches can help educators improve readiness for interprofessional collaboration.
