Jenna Salley, MA

Jenna Salley obtained her master's degree in research psychology at Florida Atlantic University. Her thesis included research examining parental depressive symptoms and how they interfere with emotional expressivity toward their children. Her dissertation will examine the factors that contribute to recovery in substance use disorders. Jenna is currently working as a neuropsychological extern at Neuropsychology Assessment & Therapy. She will also begin to counsel college students at Millersville University. Jenna is committed to advancing interprofessional education, recognizing its essential role in preparing future healthcare professionals for collaborative, team-based care. Multidisciplinary teams, with effective collaboration, can drastically improve the quality of care for patients.

Clinical psychology doctoral students do not universally have primary or team-based care experiences. Likewise, student healthcare professionals may not interact with clinical psychologists in primary care, as this role is still emerging. Therefore, as a requirement, students in the Clinical PsyD program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine shadow physicians and their accompanying medical students for four hours in clinic.
