Dr. Jennifer Martin is an Associate Clinical Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. With over 25 years of clinical experience, she specializes in hand therapy, lymphedema management, and community-based practice. Dr. Martin leads a faculty-directed, student-supported occupational therapy clinic embedded in a low-cost primary care setting serving uninsured individuals. She integrates interprofessional education (IPE) into both classroom and clinical settings and serves as Co-Chair of her campus IPE Committee. Her teaching and clinical work emphasize cultural humility, health equity, and experiential learning for future healthcare professionals.

Background: Fall prevention is a multi-factorial challenge requiring a unified, interprofessional approach to develop and implement effective, individualized strategies. Pre-service students need training in collaborative assessment and intervention to work together in addressing the complexity of mitigating falls for community-dwelling older adults.
