Dr. Julia Shin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Creighton University. Her primary responsibilities include teaching in the foundational research courses, serving in the Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Practice (CIPER) Assessment Committee, and co-directing the Creighton University Culturally Effective Care (CEC) Lab. She is a board-certified occupational therapist in pediatrics and obtained specialized training in community-based participatory research and health disparities research. Dr. Shin’s current research focuses on exploring how racial-ethnic minority families impacted by social determinants of health experience/navigate healthcare system and promoting culturally effective care in the context of pediatric rehabilitation.

The Creighton Interprofessional Collaborative Evaluation (C-ICE) tool plays a key role in assessing students' ability to demonstrate the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies within both clinical and simulated settings. The C-ICE is recognized as the only instrument to assess behavioral change in a team's performance, evaluating collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
