Lauren El-Assad is Assistant Director of the Center for Health IPE where she co-leads strategic initiatives, develops and coordinates interprofessional programs and activities, oversees daily operations, and manages relationships and partnerships. Ms. El-Assad earned her MSSW at the University of Texas at Austin’s Steve Hicks School of Social Work in 2010 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2016.

Lack of or insufficient health insurance coverage affects access to care. The impact can be traumatic for both patients and those providing services.
