Lisa Benson-DeVries is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. Her research focuses on perioperative nursing and patient safety, emphasizing improved post-anesthesia care outcomes. She holds a Doctorate in Education from Nebraska Methodist College and an MSN and MBA from Nebraska Wesleyan University. A certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), Lisa bridges academic theory with clinical practice. She recently led a quality improvement project on reducing post-operative complications using enhanced recovery protocols. Her work, presented nationally, supports evidence-based perioperative care. Lisa is dedicated to advancing nursing education, improving surgical outcomes, and promoting patient-centered care in healthcare systems.

The Creighton Interprofessional Collaborative Evaluation (C-ICE) tool plays a key role in assessing students' ability to demonstrate the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies within both clinical and simulated settings. The C-ICE is recognized as the only instrument to assess behavioral change in a team's performance, evaluating collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
