Lisa Langdale, EdD, MSN, RN is currently an Assistant Professor with the Medical University South Carolina (MUSC) Office of Interprofessional (IP) Initiatives. She began her nursing career at MUSC in 1987 in the neonatal intensive care unit followed by serving as a Pediatric Flight Nurse with MUSC’s MEDUCARE transport service. These early experiences fostered in her the necessity of interprofessional collaborative practice and life-long learning. Lisa is committed to the instruction of interprofessional teamwork to promote this concept in both our current and future health profession providers. As a past chair and member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Lowcountry Area Health Education Center, she supported interprofessional learning initiatives across the coastal region of South Carolina. She is Six Sigma Black Belt and Just Culture certified and has a passion to integrate those principles into curriculum to promote patient-centered quality care. Lisa is also extensively involved in numerous professional organizations that promote nursing scholarships and interprofessional education.

This Lightning Talk will review a newly developed educational tool called Figment Mentor under development at MUSC. Students select and create an interprofessional colleague avatar and ask interview questions to learn more about different professions and how their own profession participates in collaborative practice. The system uses a large language AI model to respond to students’ interview questions. Figment Mentor was used in assignments in two different interprofessional courses. Approximately 200 interprofessional students were enrolled in these courses and completed the assignment.…
