Dr. Mariana Ciobanu, MD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University and Medical Director of Clinical Services in Pediatric Neurology at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. A graduate of Nicolae Testemiteanu University, she completed residencies and fellowships in pediatrics, medical genetics, and child neurology. Dr. Ciobanu is board-certified in neurology with a special qualification in child neurology and headache medicine. She is a global health advocate, educator, and researcher, with leadership in international humanitarian missions and pediatric neurology outreach. Her clinical focus includes refractory headaches, telemedicine, and quality improvement in pediatric neurological care.

More individuals complain about headaches than any other condition. Headaches are disorders without a biological marker; the diagnosis is based on history and symptoms.
