Dr. Hickey is an accomplished educator with expertise in curriculum design, innovation, program development, and accreditation. She has held leadership roles in both public and private universities, advancing academic missions and strategic initiatives. Nationally active, she serves on the Board of NPWH, the Curricular Leadership Committee of NONPF, and the National Task Force for Quality Nurse Practitioner Education. Dr. Hickey has taught across all levels of nursing education and contributes scholarly work on academic innovation. Her clinical focus includes reproductive healthcare access and risk behaviors, integrating education, practice, and leadership as a dually certified WHNP and FNP.

Interprofessional conflict is a persistent challenge in healthcare, often stemming from communication breakdowns, unclear roles, and unspoken hierarchies. These issues can compromise patient safety, erode trust, and diminish team effectiveness. This seminar explores simulation as a high-impact educational strategy to surface and de-escalate these tensions.
