Megan McCarthy is an Arkansas native. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas. In 2023, she completed her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Megan is the program manager for conferences and teleconferences for IDHI, focusing primarily on our Connecting Across Professions program. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her two rescue dogs.

Introduction:Despite the widespread endorsement of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies and broad implementation of trainee-focused events, structured opportunities for the current healthcare workforce to deepen interprofessional skills are limited.
