Mira Blume is an an Assistant Professor and interprofessional simulation coordinator at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. With a passion for interprofessional education and team-based learning, Mira assisted the Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL) in the development and coordination of interprofessional simulations and classroom education from pre-licensure to post-professional levels. In addition to working in higher education, Mira is a registered nurse with specialties in hospice and geriatric care. Mire received her Masters of Holistic Health Studies from St. Catherine University and values mindfulness and holistic care in the professional and simulation settings.

This lightening talk will discuss the development of interprofessional education (IPE) honor cords for students from the associate to doctoral level at St. Catherine University. St. Catherine University interprofessional education functions as part of the Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL). The hospice interprofessional team is partially regulated by Medicare, but more frequently, additional members are being added to the interprofessional team for holistic care and symptom management. Hospice chaplains, music therapists, and massage therapists care for different aspects of hospice patients when compared to the better known nurses and physicians.
