Noralyn Pickens, PhD, OT, FAOTA, FNAP, is Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education and Strategic Initiatives, College of Health Sciences and College of Nursing. She supports and develops initiatives for interprofessional education, collaboration, and research; facilitates health science programming and clinical service development; and mentors faculty in research and leadership development. Dr. Pickens' research interests address community and home access for older adults and people with disabilities.

Background: Fall prevention is a multi-factorial challenge requiring a unified, interprofessional approach to develop and implement effective, individualized strategies. Pre-service students need training in collaborative assessment and intervention to work together in addressing the complexity of mitigating falls for community-dwelling older adults.
