Holds MS in Applied Nutrition and a BS in Dietetics, from James Madison University. Has firsthand experience participating in the Modified Texture IDDSI Event at JMU, which gives me unique insights into the student’s perspective of the event. Completed the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program; well-versed in ethical considerations and responsibilities in conducting research. Research-focused courses in graduate program included; Research and Professional Seminar, Research Methods in Dietetics, and Capstone Project. Graduate experience has provided a strong foundation in research methodologies, professional practices, and ethical standards in the fields of dietetics and applied nutrition.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:

This session will describe a Modified Texture IPE Workshop designed to prepare Dietetics, OT, and SLP students to work collaboratively to address the complex nutritional needs of clients with dysphasia. IPE experiences, especially those aligned with real-world clinical scenarios, are particularly effective in improving students’ role clarity, collaboration skills, and preparedness for team-based care.
