Richard Mutua Kilonzo, MSPH, MA, DrPH (c) is a Doctor of Public Health candidate in Community and Behavioral Health at East Tennessee State University and an Interprofessional Education (IPE) Advanced Learner. He brings a multidisciplinary background in counseling, epidemiology, and public health to his work, with a focus on advancing mental health equity and strategic service delivery on campuses. Co-authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international conferences, and actively collaborates with academic-practice partnerships to implement evidence-based, equity-focused interventions. His passion lies in leveraging storytelling, data, and interprofessional collaboration to address mental health disparities among underserved and marginalized populations.

Background, including statement of problem, and aims:The WHO (2010) called for preparing faculty to facilitate IPE. However, faculty feel ill-prepared to facilitate IPE (Ratka et al., 2017). Most health professions students are not trained as IPE facilitators. IPE Programs are challenged to hire faculty ready to facilitate IPE. Hoffman, Harris and Rosenfield (2009) have outlined the importance of mentorship in IPE.
