Dr. Safa’a Al-Arabi, PhD, MPH, MSN, CNL, RN, is an Associate professor and the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Track coordinator, Department of Graduate Studies, UTMB School of Nursing. Dr. Al-Arabi’s has extensive experience in nursing education. Dr. Al-Arabi's areas of expertise include nursing leadership, education, and public health. She frequently presents on the public aspect of headache disorders and PTSD.

More individuals complain about headaches than any other condition. Headaches are disorders without a biological marker; the diagnosis is based on history and symptoms. Migraine is the third most prevalent disorder affecting 15% of Americans. As the most stigmatized neurological disease, society and media view it as just a bad headache, instead of a debilitating and disabling disease.
