Sendy Lamour is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine candidate at the University of New England with a strong background in clinical research, molecular diagnostics, and public health. She earned her B.S. in Biology with honors from UMass Boston as a McNair Scholar and Sanofi Genzyme Fellow. Her research experience includes roles at Boston Medical Center, Foundation Medicine, and MGH. She serves as SNMA President and Vice-President of the Research Club at UNE. Founder of a nonprofit in Haiti and fluent in French and Haitian Creole, she is deeply committed to equity, advocacy, and culturally competent care.

Background:Racism in healthcare is a persistent problem that can manifest as overt discrimination or subtly as implicit biases. Historically, systemic racism in healthcare has caused trauma among certain racialized groups and structural barriers to health access further perpetuate racial inequities and disparities.
