Assessment and Evaluation of Your Interprofessional Center or Program: Exemplar Models and Lessons Learned
The assessment and evaluation of programs and centers for interprofessional practice and education is an essential component in examining impact. When building an IPE center or developing interprofessional programming for learners it is essential to identify the intended stakeholders and participants, and what the center or program is attended to achieve. If we are to determine if these intended outcomes are achieved, we must ensure the development and implementation of effective assessment and evaluation plans.
During this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to explore how center/program assessment and evaluation has been actioned within Big 10 IPE Centers and programs. Presenting diverse approaches and gaining understanding through sharing lessons learned within and between institutions.
This seminar addresses the theme of Building the Evidence Base for Interprofessional Practice and Education, as it focusses on generating impact evidence through assessment and evaluation practices.
Participants will leave with knowledge of how others are implementing assessment and evaluation practices to fit their unique structure and context. Through the provision of diverse institutional perspectives participants can develop actionable next steps that are practical and relevant to their own unique institutional setting and population needs. Participants will be supported in articulating concise and measurable Center or program goals and selecting assessment and evaluation models and approaches to measure intended impact. The seminar is structured on the principle of active learning using a guided worksheet, platform presentations, group discussion and collaborative learning activities, including the use of Mentimeter for active participant engagement.
After attending this session, participants will be able to:
1. Articulate the different uses and applications of assessment and evaluation practices across a range of institutions.
2. Draft concise and measurable Center or program goals
3. Select preliminary or revise existing assessment and evaluation models and approaches to measure the intended impact of their IPE Center or program.
