Professor MacKinnon is Director of Outreach at the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, focusing on corporate partnerships and new pharmacy practice models. She earned her BPharm from UW Madison and completed a clinical internship at Meriter Hospital. With over 35 years of teaching experience, she has helped establish three academic pharmacy programs and served as Director of Experiential Education and Professional Laboratories. She has practiced in both institutional and community settings. Currently, she works on local and state immunization grants aimed at enhancing pharmacists’ roles in expanding immunization access across Wisconsin.

This Lightning Talk highlights an innovative Interprofessional Education (IPE) workshop—IPEssentials—hosted by the Medical College of Wisconsin, which brought together over 500 health professions students from 10 diverse programs across the Milwaukee area.
