Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Kruti Patel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Clinical and Health Psychology from Temple University. She is currently pursuing her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Kruti has experience working with underserved communities in the Philadelphia area, focusing on nutrition education and public health. Her passion for equitable healthcare continues as she enters her clinical years, rotating through the Main Line Health hospital system.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC, 2024) defines personal health literacy as “the degree to which individuals have the ability to find, understand, and use information and services to inform health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others.” Improving health literacy is an ideal, shared value, and ethical responsibility of all team members in collaborative, patient-centered care in addition to improving patients’ trust and health equity (CDC, 2024).
