Dr. Leah Topek-Walker has 20 years of experience as a social worker. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare, where she oversees the library social work program. The social work internship program, in collaboration with and independent of the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program, is committed to providing communities with micro and mezzo level interventions to address equity and access to care. Dr. Topek-Walker built the library internship program to be the largest of its kind in the United States, reaching vulnerable communities and offering internships to over 20 students each year.

This lightning talk will describe the design, implementation and evaluation of an interprofessional (IP) practice-education partnership in public libraries known as the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (HeLP).
