Dr. Donohue is the Assistant Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Collaborative Care at Virginia Commonwealth University where she clinically serves as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. In her IPE role, she is the course director of a 500+ student graduate course for nursing, pharmacy and medical students that centers on patient safety and quality improvement. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Donohue is dedicated to amplifying IPE through faculty development, scholarly activity and dissemination.

Preparing students to be informed, open-minded, and engaged for large Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities that take place in the late afternoon or other unfavorable times can be challenging. Use of innovative, technology-inclusive approaches can help educators improve readiness for interprofessional collaboration. This presentation describes the model we adopted, shares lessons learned, and offers suggestions for improvement.
