Susan Doughty is the Executive Director of the Coalition for Headache and Migraine Patients (CHAMP), a coalition of more than twenty headache and migraine disease stakeholders that work together to enhance communication, coordination and collaboration so that more patients achieve access to treatment. Susan has worked nonprofit for over two decades, partnering with advocacy organizations to design and fund programs that have impact at the local, national and international level. Susan graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Library Studies. A New Jersey native, Susan now lives in Maine with her husband and children.

More individuals complain about headaches than any other condition. Headaches are disorders without a biological marker; the diagnosis is based on history and symptoms. Migraine is the third most prevalent disorder affecting 15% of Americans. As the most stigmatized neurological disease, society and media view it as just a bad headache, instead of a debilitating and disabling disease.
